Today was my last day of our in-service week. Monday is what our school calls its second first day of school. Everyone on my roster showed up last week, so I hope that means that I won't get any new students. Blake starts school Monday and the Roosters will start Wednesday.
I have been so tired lately that I have added a few new vitamins to the ones I already take. I have also been trying very, very hard to get between 7.5 and 9 hours of sleep each night. I can honestly say that both the added vitamins (B100 and B12 especially) and extra sleep seem to be helping. Monday I am planning to start walking/running and trying to eat healthier. With the stress of starting a new school year, I have been eating like a cow--all day long. I don't know if anyone else is like this, but I have a certain weight that I reach that makes me go "Okay, it is time to stop and do something." I am almost there, so I have decided to get working on my weight loss plan. I wish I would have started at five pounds over rather than ten. Ugh. Oh, well. My plan is to start Monday, but I may start tomorrow. It is just easier to start after I have bought groceries and I have healthier foods in the house.
Now, speaking of dieting, working out and weight loss, this is what I had for lunch today...
It looks boring b/c it is all brown, but it was sooooo good. That huge hunk of meat is a finger-licking fried pork chop that was delicious. I ate every bit of that thing. Laina has a picture of me gnawing it like a dog gnaws a bone. I'm in mourning as that will be my last fried pork chop for a long time. It is definitely not on the weight loss menu.
I took a picture of our table today at lunch. We all inhaled fried pork chops. They were double battered. That plate of food I had today would cost me more than a five mile run. Next week it will be grapes, apples, carrots, nuts, and yuck. Haha!
Team members McIntosh and Shoemake...I think this was Wednesday at lunch. I love Chick-fil-A's spicy chicken sandwich. I won't be eating anymore of those any time soon either. :(
These ladies are new to the teaching profession and to the Forest. Bradshaw (left) did her student teaching at my former school. I had lunch with her this summer to share info about the Forest. She has such a heart for children. I asked them if I could get a picture of them being all nerdy with their data notebooks studying them at lunch. Although there are definite problems in our public education system, I can honestly say that "most" teachers go above and beyond to educate the children in their classes.
It has been a good week working with peers and seeing old friends from around the district. Now, I need to write lesson plans for next week, plan a birthday supper for the big Rooster who turns 16 on his second day of school, and attend Open House for the little roosters Monday night. Yes, school has definitely started for the entire Dew Crew.
