Rooster Shopping

Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  1 John 4: 4

Yesterday and today were very busy days.  I didn't have to work yesterday b/c technically our district office is still operating on its summer schedule, so school was closed for us.  I was going to register the Roosters for school, but their school was closed also. Why I didn't think about that is beyond me.  We live in a different school district than where I work so I guess I was thinking they "might" have a different schedule.  Obviously they don't.

This is John Ryan at the entrance.  He was excited.

Nick was not having his picture taken.  He was upset b/c he wanted to go get his shoes first.  Notice he has taken his shoes off.  We were on our way to do some shopping and Nick was upset b/c we were making this detour first.

Nick is smiling because he found a pair of shoes he liked.  Khol's is always an easy one top shop for us.  They are also featuring Curious George books and stuffed animals right now.  You can buy a book and stuff animal for $5 each and the proceeds go to some organization (of which I forget).  I think it is to purchase books for children that can't afford them.  Nick decided on Curious George and the Dinosaur.

This was John Ryan's choice.  His book was Curious George and the puppies.  Usually the get the same animal but not today.  John Ryan couldn't find a pair of shoes that felt right.  He is so funny about shoes.  It takes forever to find THE perfect pair.

And, you might be a redneck if you feed pigeons hotdog buns in the WalMart parking lot!!

By the time the boys finished breaking up the buns, they had about ten pigeons next to our car.

Our neighbor is on vacation in the mountains, so we are taking care of her dogs.  This is Ernie.  He is the funniest dog.  The twins have had the most fun feeding Ernie and Lucky.  Nick has claimed Ernie and John Ryan has bonded with Lucky.  It is sort of eerie because Nick's personality definitely fits Ernie, and John Ryan is quiet and serious like Lucky.

I think when Elizabeth gets home we are going to take her up on her offer to fish from her dock.  She has lived across the road from us for about a year now and we have yet to go fishing although she is always telling us to go.  I love the view from her deck.  This is just so peaceful.

John Ryan found a pair of shoes and we picked up a few uniforms before heading home.  It was a long, tiring day.  But my day didn't end after shopping.  Oh, no.  I dropped the Roosters off with the Colonel, picked up the big Rooster and headed to Sam's to buy five watermelon for football snack.  I spent my evening and early this morning cutting up watermelon.  Ugh!  More on the watermelon later.  It was an adventure.
