Watermelon, Lady and the Laundry Room

And when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from him until an opportune time. ~ Luke 4: 13

I guess some of you may be wondering why I selected the above Bible scripture.  If you read the post before this one, you know that I had to cut up five watermelon for Blake's football team today.  Another football mom and I volunteered to bring watermelon as snack for the guys today.  There are about 80 players on the JV and varsity teams, so Cindy and I each had five melons to slice.  OMG!  I was going about to lose my mind.  I told Alberta that I would be the blond blur sprinting to the altar tomorrow to redeem my soul.  It was pure sinful the verbal abuse I laid on melons four and five.  What is it about fruit and satan?  First it was Eve in the garden and last night it was me in my kitchen.  However, Cindy emailed me today and told me the watermelon was a huge hit.  The guys loved it and we are queens of the football team.  I am glad the fellas enjoyed it, and I took this time to remind my oldest that I expect a plush nursing home.

I don't care if I ever see another watermelon again.

After delivering the demonic melons to the football field this AM, I headed to get Sister.  I had a laundry list of things I wanted to get done today.  Funny that I have had all summer to get things done and did little to nothing.

After lunch, Heidi and I groomed Lady.  She loves her outdoor kiddie/doggie pool.  The problem is that after she gets out the pool, she rubs around in the dirt.  She had some mats and was in dire need of a bath.  Sister and I sat on the side patio and trimmed lady.  She loves getting brushed and groomed.  Scruffy is a totally different story.  He hates it.

This is John Ryan with Elizabeth's dog Lucky.  They were going to check out the lake.

After cleaning Lady up and then ourselves, Sister and I decided to tackle my laundry room.  It had become a toss it and hide it room.  I couldn't take it any more.  I cleaned and organized the cabinets, cleaned the washer and dryer, tossed junk left and right and cleaned everything from top to bottom.  Nick walked into it and said, "Mom, where is all the junk?  It looks so big in here now and I can walk."  That should tell you how bad it had gotten.  I even had junk in the sink.  It took a while to get it cleaned and organized, but I must admit it looks so good now.

I am exhausted now, but I feel so productive with everything I got accomplished.  I even managed to trim the hedge bushes at the end of our drive b/c the Rooster was having trouble seeing the road when he backed out.

Okay, I'm off to put Lucky and Ernie to bed and then lay out the Rooster's clothes for church tomorrow.
