He is so funny!!

"May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ." ~ 2 Thessalonians 3: 5

This week starts in-service meetings with our district.  For schools in our district, which would be all of them but the Forest, the teachers just started today.  We get mini in-service meetings for a day before we start but have to attend the big week of meetings when the district returns.  The big rooster in the house has been heavy into football practice.  He cracked me up when he got out his car one day last week after practice or weight lifting or something or other.  He is just such a nutty, fun kid.

Really?  Superman?  BaaHahahahahah.  I told him to put his glasses on so I could take a picture of his "Clark Kent" look.  This is the pose I got.  Goofy.

Here he is entertaining the mom.  I asked for a Superman flying picture.  I wanted to get a beach towel and tie to his shoulders but he was tired and wasn't going to wait for me to do all that.  And I am really laughing at him--black shirt, red shorts, WHITE TOURIST SOCKS, and blue shoes.

I'm sorry, but it is really hard to look like Mr. Buff Man with white nerd tourist socks.

Nick was posing and John Ryan messed up his photo op.

I'm not sure why John Ryan is at the table with no shirt.  I can't stand for any of the boys to go around the house with no shirt and to sit at the table without one is a big "no no."

Notice that Nick has two spoons.  He actually ended up with three.  I have some weird children, but I love them to pieces.

I went to Lowe's this weekend to get some flea killer and decided to buy another hummingbird feeder for my den window (which really needs cleaning as you can tell from this picture).  Now I can watch them from either the living room sofa or the den couch.  There were three birds at the feeder this afternoon.  I just love watching them (even if mine do fight--yes, even the hummingbirds around my house are aggressive.)

I thought these were the cutest pencils!  The boys got them at Sunday school this past Sunday.  I am thinking that I might find out where these were purchased and buy a box for my "who needs a pencil" basket.  Wink!  You just never know how God might use a pencil to speak to a student.  :)

When I looked at this picture with my "fly eyes", it made me think of the poem "The Spider and the Fly" which is actually a fable too (the teacher in me must share that bit of info with you).

"Will you step into my parlor?" said the spider to the fly;
"Tis the prettiest little parlor that every you did spy.
The way into my parlor is up a winding stair,
And I have many pretty things to show when you are there."
"Oh, no, no," said the little fly, "to ask me is in vain,
For who goes up your winding stair can ne'er come down again."
.......

And now, dear children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly, flattering words, I pray you ne'er give heed;
Unto an evil counselor close heart, and ear, and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale of the Spider and the Fly.
