My Birthday Weekend Begins

Birthday Lunch!

"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." ~Ephesians 2:10, NIV

Today the Roosters and Colonel took me out to lunch.  For this southern gal, there was only one choice for a quick lunch so that the Colonel could return to work:  Cracker Barrel!  I love their food in all the southern drippings.  Here are a few pictures of my crew helping me celebrate a day early.

I love this place!!

Yes, I ate it all!  Meatloaf, turnip greens cooked in ham stock, mashed potatoes smothered in brown gravy and baked apples with several glasses of sweet iced tea.

The Colonel looks surprised while the big Rooster seems to be a little less than over-joyed to have his picture taken.

John Ryan always checks Nick out to make sure he isn't making one of his goofy faces.  You'll see many of those in the future. It is Nick's new "thing."

Hey!  The food arrives and I am soon forgotten.  LOL!

John Ryan was very serious about the peg game.  Prior to this, we did the crossword puzzle inside the kid's menu, and the teacher in me (not to mention the mother in me) was really proud of how well he did.  This is my child that lives by the code "do it right the first time."

I saw this book by Jill Biden.  I didn't realize she had written a children's book.  I need to go on Amazon and read the snyopsis and any reviews.  This might be a book to add to our home library.  Looks like it might make a good gift selection, too.  Hmmm?

I loved these sayings.  As a matter of fact, I bought the second one.  There is so much to be said for small towns.  I have lived in two and still miss many, many, many things about each.

Blake was explaining to the Colonel how he had just a little trouble backing out the other day.  Of course it wasn't his fault.  It was the BIG truck that parked next to his LITTLE car.  I have been trying to explain that in a parking lot people usually do park NEXT TO EACH OTHER!!

Lunch was delicious and the company wasn't half bad either.  HA!  I'm off to the doctor's office now to see what Dr. Bartlett says about John Ryan's finger.  A post on that soon.  Poor Rooster of mine!
