The Great Wolf Lodge 2013
You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.
~Deuteronomy 11:19 (ESV)
When the Colonel and I decided to let our oldest Rooster go to the beach with his best friend Ian and his family, we loaded the twin Roosters into our SUV and headed to the Great Wolf Lodge for just a couple of days of splash fun. Pawley's Island is usually our favorite place to spend any vacation time, but past experiences have been somewhat of a challenge trying to explain to the little ones that water temperatures below 60 are just not a good thing for the human body. So, we forfeited the sand and sure (much to my chagrin) and headed to howl (and swim) with the wolves at the lodge in North Carolina.
Nick and John Ryan had a fabulous time. We didn't leave the lodge the entire time we were there. Everything you need is at your fingertips. Of course, some things seemed to cost a finger or two. Whew! I really have issues with paying $2.50 for a 20 oz soft drink or bottle of water. Geez!

Yes, Thomas goes everywhere the twins go. They even have Thomas backpacks on filled with all the "really useful engines" and those trickety freight cars.
The Roosters spend all of a half an hour at the splash den before venturing to the big slides. After realizing that this was a full-size indoor water park, they didn't even give the Colonel and I a chance to think of sitting down and just resting. I brought my Kindle why?
John Ryan's smile says it all! They had a blast!
Even though the lodge boasts of 84 degree water temperatures, you can see that Nick's lips are just a little on the purple side. The only time this kid wanted to stop was when we promised a pizza picnic in the lounge.
And this is the Colonel rendering his most serious officer look. HA! This is also the only time he got to sit down.
And since I am the offical Dew Crew photographer, this is a picture of me with my little roosters at a Disney Live show last month. I was beyond tired in this photo. It was an evening show on a school night. At 45, it is all I can do to get a decent dinner on the table let alone drag myself with the Roosters to a show, but I managed to do just that. John Ryan is the surprised Rooster in the back and Nick is my policeman. Yes, while other kids were so cute in their Disney attire, my little Rooster was a very proud (and very serious) member of SWAT. Gotta love Roosters!
